Definition: (fo-toe-dye-NAM-ik) Treatment with drugs that become active when exposed to light. These drugs kill cancer cells. It is based on the ability of light to cause chemical changes in human tissue. This is known as a photochemical reaction. A suntan is one example of a simple photochemical reaction.
