Definition: (in-KON-tih-nents) noun. Adj: incontinent. Continence is the ability to control the flow of urine from the bladder (urinary continence) or the escape of stool (feces) from the rectum (fecal continence). Incontinence is the loss or lack of that ability. Kegel exercises are designed to improve control.
