Have access to a PCa glossary when you need it!
On-line glossaries are fine, if you are on the Web and at that site.
But what about the rest of the time - doing E-mail, at another site, speaking with a friend, a loved one or your doctor - when you want to look up a word?
Now you can do it, without an Internet connection.
The largest prostate cancer glossary of its kind can now be on your computer.
As a public service, and at no cost, the Phoenix5 interactive glossary Personal Editiion is now available for installation on your computer or that of a loved one.
Consisting of over 500 words, acronyms, synonyms, abbreviations and slang terms, this may be the largest prostate cancer-specific, interactive glossary of its kind in the world.
You may see the on-line version by clicking here.
Put it on a desktop, laptop or hand-held computer.
The Personal Edition PCa glossary has been modified to operate on PC or Mac systems and compressed (zipped) into one file that you can now download, install and use on your computer whenever you want, without connecting to the Net.
Give it to a someone who can't access the Web
The Personal Edition file comes with a "Read Me First" page that explains the glossary and how to download and install it, including how to make a desktop shortcut/alias to easily access it when you want.
Specifications
The zipped file is 475KB.
You will need about 1.2MB on your hard drive to extract the glossary. It will be created in a created folder called "P5glossary." It consists of this document, two slightly modified menus from the Web site, that link to each other:
(1) The page with all words, and;
(2) The page with acronyms and abbreviations only
and a folder with 430 small files, including two small graphics.
The files were created in Windows 98 with WinZip and tested on PCs and Macs.
For further information and agreement for downloading, see the READ ME FIRST file.
